Doing Something about Sandy!- Helping Others

I have been watching all the horrific reports on the aftermath of Sandy on television and the internet! The pictures and interviews of the people in the affected areas are tragic. They brought me to tears and have filled my night time prayers.

I am honestly blessed to be living in a home with heat! I have a car that is filled with gas and a fridge that is filled with food. My husband has job to go to and JDaniel has a school to attend. We have so much!

While my prayers are important, I want to do more. I bet you want to do more too.

What can we do?

Well, we can give.

Some of you are thinking giving is great idea, but my budget is tight. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming. There isn’t a lot I can give right now.

Did you notice that I said that we can give? I really met we as a team.

Here is what I have decided to do! I am going to donate to Samaritan’s Purse fifty cents for every blog comment I receive this week. I have been averaging 75 comments a week that means I could donate $37. 50. I am going to really work drumming up more comments this week to try and get the donation closer to $50. $50 is what I can give even if we exceed 100 comments.

How can you help?

You can comment on posts.

You can share this post with your readers and friends.

You can pray that people will comment.

We can do something about Sandy and help others. I hope you will join me.

Wonderful post and very appropriate. I think we will all be pulling together right now to give to those in need. And wow to making personal donations per comment. Go you.

Good idea. I’ve donated to the Red Cross, a Staten Island Animal group, and some DonorsChoose projects for schools in the area. We may not be able to do a lot, but every bit helps.

Once again you show what a great person you are!
I think this is awesome that you are doing this..
We saw a ton of my hometown power company trucks headed up north to help with restoring power to everyone.
