Every year teachers get holiday gifts and most of them give or send their students thank you notes for them. There are a few that forget during the Christmas break or are just not note writers. ( I found it easiest to get them done while the kids watched a movie or worked on a holiday activity packet.) Kids and their parents really enjoy getting to hear that the teacher enjoyed their gift. (Yes, even the most unique gifts.) I created printable thank you cards that you can use to thank you students.
How to Work With These Printable Thank You Cards
All you need to do is download these printable thank you cards for each child that has given you a gift. The whole card fits on one sheet of paper. Next you need to fold the paper in half hot dog style (horizontally). Then fold it in half hamburger style (vertically)
On the inside of the card I have created a blank thank you area. You just need to fill in the child’s name, what the gift is, something you love about it and your name. It may be challenge with the more unique gifts to find something you love about it. I know that you are all up to challenge though.
If you don’t have a lot of time to write out your thank you notes, I have made a fill in the black version of the cards for you!
Examples of Unique Gift Thank Yous :
Once I got a ceramic hand with bright red nail polish. I wrote the following: I love that this can be used to hold rings and small treasures. I didn’t say that I would use it for that. I just gave a way that it could be used. My comment let the child know I thought their gift was useful.
I can see you picked it out just for me.
Don’t say things like the following:
This mug gives me a complete set of 12 Christmas mugs.
I can’t wait to share it with others in the community.
I hope these printable thank you cards make writing children and their families thank you notes this Christmas easier. The sending of thank you notes is a dying art, but one so worth sharing with your children.
Do you or your children send out thank you notes? Let me know in comment below or on my Facebook page. I would love the know how you handle the sending of thank you notes to your students or if your children send them. If you have unique thank you note ideas please, let me know about them too.

We’ve sent in something simple to classroom, I think it was a box of tissues, and the teacher made a point of writing a thank you note. It means a lot, especially to my 5 year old, that she takes time out of her day to write a note just to her!
