Based on their personalities, what do you think your children will be when they grow up?
He argues and he does it well; this would make him a winning defense attorney.
He remembers things we did last summer in detail; this would make him a wonderful accountant or computer programmer.
He loves to build forts with sticks in the backyard; this would make him a fantastic architect.
He has pockets full of acorns after playing outside; this would make him a terrific naturalist.
He notices abandoned cupcakes at parties and tries to help them feel needed; this would make a compassionate social worker or counselor.
He loves to test his parents to see if they will do what they say they will do; this would make him a great judge or maybe psychologist.
He can sneak into the kitchen and assess whether there are any yummy items within arms reach; this would make him a great secret agent.
He loves to ask questions about God; this would make him an inquiring theologian.
He will spend long period of time picture reading books; this would make him a great story time librarian.
He lives to taste the samples offered in the bakery at Publix; this would make him a wonderful food critic.
He loves to help in the kitchen and clean dishes; this would make him an awesome husband.
Heaven only knows what he will grow up to be. It will be wonderful to wait and see.

Very cute post
I always say my oldest is a natural salesperson. When we were looking at one house he was waving his arms saying things like “And look at this pile of bricks over here. It is a very nice pile.” LOL Or a chef – he loves to be in the kitchen cooking!
My youngest… A baseball player!
Sooo cute!! Love thinking about what they will grow up to be!
Interesting post to read! I read it as the first post in the morning. It made my day.
My daughter says when she grow up, she will be a Rock star, Truck driver and a Mountain climber. That’s her list as of now:-)
I have been blessed that my sons have grown up to be fine men that love their God, families and their parents. I hope JDaniel will too.
Oh I just loved how you wrote this. Very sweet. And I hope you save it for him when he is older.
Visiting from Mama Kats.
Oh, so many talents!
I love this. It is the perfect way to capture the essence of JDaniel.
=) great post! love it!
I have no idea what Klaw will be but your observations of your son are wonderful!
I love the way yu addressed this! I was afraid to tackle this one because I feel exactly the way you do! beautiful.
I loved the cupcake line. I always make sure abandoned cupcakes feel needed.
This is awesome. When my boy was in kindergarten, they got to make giant posters featuring what they wanted to be when they grew up:
Jack wants to be ~ A CROSSING GUARD (and he’d drawn a picture of the guy at the corner of our neighborhood.)
It’s good to have goals.
I love this! It’s so much fun to see all the things they do now and how it will affect them later!
I hope no matter what my boys do, I hope its something that makes them happy!
I love that instead of making several indicators result in just 1 career, you said how each “like” of his could mean something.
awww.. that was totally sweet. i love it. won’t it be great to just wait and see?! ๐
snuck in quickly – loved it – his options are wide open!
I know for sure what my son will NOT be…a firefighter. He does not hurry to get dressed and out the door so the building would burn down before he left the firehouse!
This is a toughie – I know his love for animals so I think he would want to do that but he really excels at math and science and I wouldn’t wouldn’t rule out engineering. Exciting to watch the outcome! ๐
This is such a precious post! I, too, tend to seek out lost and unloved cupcakes with the intent of giving them a good home ๐
Isn’t it fun to wonder what they’ll be like one day?!?!
Layla, my youngest wants to be a farmer, police officer, artist and chef.
Willow, my eldest wants to be a massause. ๐
I always wonder what my kids are going to be. My 10 yr old says hes going to be a cop or a video game designer. And my twins want to have a ton of kids! My youngest, age 4 said he wants to be a butterfly… lol
i think about this all the time. probably too much. but it’s good for them (and me!) to know their strengths and weaknesses, right? ๐
favorite part was the bit about the cupcakes. such compassion!
great write
This is wonderful… I really love that he makes abandoned cupcakes feel needed ๐
Oh the possibility is endless, and I’m still waiting to see what my children will be..
Great post, I am know a grandmother and it is a delightful experince to watch children growing up and figuring out who they are
After reading this post, I immediately thought of the bible verse – Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Sound like your son is well on his path of life’s discovery. Keep up the good work and training Mom!
What a sweet post! I often wonder about my son too, and we joke sometimes about the things he might be. For example, he was really into playing with my rings and necklaces, so we thought he would be a jeweler (or a jewel thief!).
Great post! I wonder about it often and hope that she will grow up to be a kind and intelligent human being. Perhaps she will be someone we cannot imagine yet – after all, not many people were computer programmers when I was growing up!
this was a cute (and sweet) post.. please print this for him when he gets older
