If you are a mom or dad that has your fundar on you will love the book Eat, Nap, and Play by Robyn Spizman and Evelyn Sacks. What is fundar? The authors define it as unexpected fun. They challenged the readers of this book to plan fun at times and be ready to enjoy it when it spontaneously comes up. The book is loaded with great ideas for all kinds of fun.
The chapters run the gambit from “Spend More Time and Less Money” to “Mommy I’m (Still!) Bored!” to “Swap, Shop, Barter Share”, and seven more really fun topics. Each has easy to put together activities and or tips.
The book is filled with ideas like the ones above. This review could go on and on. Eat, Nap, and Plays is an amazing resource. It is one to add to your parenting library. When you buy it or win it, please take a look at the Proud of You Plate. It is really wonderful idea.
Thanks to Lisa at TLC Book Tours, I have a copy of Eat, Nap, Play to giveaway.

Sounds like a great book! Does bribing count!? We have a nap chart and my daughter gets a frown on it if she acts out at naptime or doesn’t nap! Doesnt always work.
My kids are not big eaters, but they love pancakes and bacon. Sometimes we have breakfast for dinner and they love it.

We have a routine for naptime and bedtime to help the kids. Sometimes I make up songs to make the routine more exciting (like singing about putting toys away or brushing teeth.)

I don’t have any trouble getting my child to eat or nap, but sometimes I have to prod her to play because she likes the tv a little too much. I get her to play by starting to play with her toys myself and acting like I’m just having soooo much fun without and then she gets really interested and comes over to play with me.

My son and my husband have a race to see who can eat whatever my son does not particularly want to eat the fastest… one bite at a time… works on almost everything.

Hi there…just wanted to stop by and say hi. Since my kids are out of this age, if I am picked to win…please give it to ilovepink1078 (above me)! I appreciate your faithful following and I just wanted to tell you that! Have a great day! 🙂
We use music to help switch between activities. Slow music for bedtime and dancing music for play.

Sounds like a great book! To get my son (2 1/2 years old) to eat better, he helps me cook. He stands at the end of the counter and will basically eat anything I put on his plate as long as he’s “helping”.
we try to make meal time fun by making faces and such out of things the kids don’t care for.
I tell my three year old that he can have a choice 1. nap and story OR 2. nap and no stories.
Either way, he still has to nap so he chooses to listen to a book and a nap every time!

Sometimes children can be very picky eaters so you need to make meal time fun! What we do at our household is create creatures, cars, boats, etc with our food to make it more fun!

Stick to the same routine for naps…we always sing the same two songs just before laying them down so that they know that is what happens next.

I am a grandmother now. I’m not real sure how my daughter-in-law gets our grandsons to eat. One is a great eater while the other is very picky. I remember it was a challenge to get them to eat the right foods for nutrition. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
