Next, children will need to count how many of each number appears on the page. You may want to have them color or cross out a number as they are counting.

Then have the children go back to double-check their counting. It is easy to miss a number!

Once they are sure they have the correct data for each number have them record it.

Extending the Activity

After completing the worksheet, you could have your children come up with math facts using the data. Children can be asked one or all of the following questions.

Which snowflake is pictured the most?
Which snowflake is pictured the least?
How many more of the last snowflake are there than the second snowflake?
If you add the number of the third snowflake to the number of the fourth snowflake, how many snowflakes do you have?
What two snowflakes added together will equal ten snowflakes?
