Yesterday I shared an catapult activity that could be used with children young and old. It was based on the theme of friendship and sharing found in the book Should I Share My Ice Cream? by Mo Willems. Today I want to share with you simple division activity that focuses on sharing.
This activity focuses on discovering what numbers are divided by two. Let me walk you through how to use this division math activity with your children.
Division Math Activity
Supplies
- Red Pom-Poms
- Simple Division Math Activity for Early Learners Mat
- Die (We used a ten sided die.)
How to Play
Children are asked to roll a die. Then they are asked to count on the number of cherries that equals that number. Next they are asked to decide if that number can be shared equally between two cones. If they can divide the cherries evenly, they can put them in one of the sections in each of the cones. The game continues until each section of the cone is filled.
