I have told you how much my family likes the tasted of food that has been grilled. Recently JDaniel and joined several local bloggers to taste test some wonderful new grilled menu items at Chick Fil-A.

The owner Matt Webber sat down with us and shared his insights on the new products and his history with Chick Fil-A. He has been working with them since high school. It was fun to hear what he had to share.

 

Taste Testing Grilled Chicken Menu Items

We started with the grilled chicken salad, grilled chicken sandwich and grilled chicken nuggets they were delicious! It was fun to taste test them with JDaniel. We tried dipping them in new strawberry and apple vinaigrettes. They were awesome. Matt was surprised to see us try dipping the fruits from the fruit salad that came next into them. He hadn’t seen anyone try that yet. Leave it to a six year old to introduce dipping fruit to an adult. We all know kids really love to dip foods. The strawberries in the strawberry vinaigrette was my favorite. We loved dipping the new grilled chicken nuggets in both of the vinaigrettes too.

JDaniel has always loved the unbreaded  chicken nuggets and the chicken salad sandwiches at Chick Fil-A, but I think the grilled chicken nuggets and have replaced them as his favorite. He really loves the flavor and texture of them. Texture is very big with him.

I was really glad he didn’t like the wrap sandwich sample we were given. It gave me something to taste test that hadn’t been previously tried. I was equally glad the idea of blue cheese on the grilled chicken salad was so unappealing that I was left with the whole salad. Although the blueberries and strawberries on the salad did cause him to give the salad a second look.

After our taste test, we were given a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen. It was amazing how compact, clean and compartmentalized everything was. (I was left with a desire to go home and scrub my counters.) I have never been behind the counter at a restaurant before. It was really impressive.

Our final event in a really wonderful afternoon was meeting the Chick Fil-A cow. JDaniel was thrilled. He rushed over and gave him a big hug. I love that Chick Fil-A  has healthy options that I can pick up for a quick meal for my husband and son. The fruit salad and chicken nuggets were JDaniel’s  favorites. I will be getting them for him again.
