Raising JDaniel right now is going almost parallel with the growing process of flowers. He is given enlightenment on areas of his life that need to change via timeouts and reading books about characters that display behaviors we want him to exhibit. We try to provide him with nourishment and steep him with praise in the areas of his behavior where little sprouts of goodness have started to grow. This is a slow process. My little one constantly wants to know if we will be persistent in our expectations and how patient we will be with him as he learns and grows.
Right now it is a challenge to tend to this little one. We are trying to help him develop deep roots and leaves that will reach for the Son. He is only two and we have a long way to go, but we hope that someday his life displays beautiful flowers.

It is a challenge, and one that is completely worthwhile. (Both the plants and the child!)

You are so right about that. Although I’ve never been able to have the patience with plants. Have a great Tuesday!

So true! we are growing up little plants and we want them to bring forth good fruit…that they can share with others! It is challenging and we must be consistent in our care…but I believe that all the hard work will be worth it in the end! =)

I admire people who have green thumbs…or even not so green thumbs but they try. I am not the gardener, but I love flowers. Great post.

I’m visiting after you stopped by to make my SITS day so special last week.
the comparison between your child and little plants is so true!! We do the best we can for them, and watch them sprout. How neat!

My little girl (5) climbed on my lap the other day and said “Mummy, I want to have a soft heart so that Jesus can make it full of beautiful flowers. They will be called joy and peace and kindness.”
It seems what we’ve been trying to sow is starting to bear fruit. We plant and water, but God cause the seeds to grow!
