We have read about twenty books on construction equipment. I am only going to highlight three today.

Dig by Andrea Zimmerman and David Clemesha is a wonderful book with rhymes about the five jobs Mr. Rally and his dog Lightning do in one day. They did up rock! They did up clay! They dig up dirt! They dig all day.
Dig Dig Digging by Margaret Mayo has a great repetition of words. I loved reading the book to JDaniel.
Tip Tip Dig Dig by Emma Garcia is another book full of repetitive words. I love that the machines come to do something with the mess they find in a lot. What do they make? They create a nature playground.
We printed out a picture of a crane. JDaniel aggressively colored it with markers. I cut out the outline of the crane so that you could see that it is indeed a crane.
I remember the days when my sons were younger, and all they wanted to do was read the books about trucks and tractors…thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I can see the excitement in his coloring! 🙂 My boys are hooked on just cars for now but I’m sure we’ll get hooked on big trucks and what-not soon enough!
Have a great weekend!
Very cute! My oldest son used to be crazy about cars and trucks too! “Ruck” for “truck” was actually one of his first words!
Those are great books! Glad to see you this morning on the mom loop
What a treasure that picture is and will be especially when he is grown! My whole family harasses me, but I think I have every piece of paper my daughter ever put a mark on. And guess what? I don’t care what they say!!! LOL
We’re so glad you enjoyed “Dig!” Maybe you’d enjoy our “Digger Man”, too. See if your library system has it, if you’d like to give it a try.
Thanks!
Andrea Z.
Great recommendations! One of my son’s first words was “car.” It seems young boys can never have enough vehicle books read to them!

I will have to check on those books. My youngest son would love them!
Those books look like fun. Makes wish I had a littler one. 🙂
Boys love their tractors! Although, I think Chloe would like some of these.
We have Tip, Tip, Dig, Dig. The boys love it. I will have to check out the other ones too!
By boys would LOVE these! Thanks!
Ooops, I meant MY boys!

Those are lovely color combinations on that crane!!
i think he likes to color, at least a little
