We had a Chinese carryout meal for > at my house. It was just the three of us so; I decided a fun meal that required no more than mom ordering food and taking it out of little takeout boxes would be wonderful. My guys both agreed a restaurant meal would be a perfect way to welcome the New Year.
We ordered shrimp with broccoli, sweet and sour pork, and pork fried rice that came with fortune cookies. (I love pork. Can you tell?) It was all really wonderful and we loved feasting on it. Oh! JDaniel also had a New Year’s cracker with chocolate bits in it.
JDaniel have a few opinions about the meal that he shared with my husband and I. He didn’t think the sauce on the shrimp and broccoli was good in fact he announced it wasn’t a favorite. He usually loves shrimp but commented on how the sauce made it not good. He loved the restaurant nuggets. Most of the world would call it sweet and sour pork JDaniel renamed the dish restaurant nuggets. The dipping sauce that came with the restaurant nuggets was very much loved. He dipped everything in it including the fortune cookie.

I can’t believe that I have no recollection of what I ate on New Year’s Eve. I didn’t even have cocktails and I still can’t remember. I am SO old!
Happy New Year!

I don’t remember what I ate either. Largely due to sick child and sleep deprivation. I WANTED a cocktail, really I did. I was just too tired to make one… ;o)
And my daughter loves that sweet & sour sauce, too. I can’t stand it, but she’ll put it on anything!

Too bad he didn’t like the sauce. Maybe it’s something that’ll grow on him! I would’ve liked it!

Great tin. We usually have Chinese on New Years Eve but I am pregnant and have sadly gone off Chinese, Thai and Indian food. Happy New Year!!

I love Chinese food :)! It looks great and a fun way to bring in the new year.
P.S. I use Picasa (free download from Google) It will automatically upload whatever pic you have on your computer. You then highlight (Shift + click on pic) to grab all the pic’s you want in your collage. You then click the collage button and it will put together for you. You can move pic’s around before you click make collage. Then there is a upload to blogger button :). I hope that makes sense. Let me know, it takes a bit to get use to but play and you’ll love it!

I said that this is making me crave Chinese food!
For NYE, we went out to dinner w/ our neighbors. I had a salad, a mushroom tartlette, and a piece of lemon cake for dessert (oink oink!).
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and I’m your newest follower! Happy New Year!

How cute! I think we just had leftovers for dinner on New Year’s Eve; I was too tired to cook after being at the Children’s museum all day. But the leftovers were tasty!

One day soon I really need to have Chinese again. Unfortunately the options around here aren’t the best. I love that he called the sweet and sour pork “nuggets.” So cute.
Wishing you a blessed New Year.
Also wanted to thank you for all the kind comments you always leave at my blog.

Unka Seesee always goes to his sister’s house and they make Chinese food every New Year’s Eve. I don’t really like Chinese (food. I like the culture and people just fine!) But I love the tin idea. I’m always a grazer/nibbler. I like a little of everything, rather than a whole plate of one thing. So I love anything that allows my daughter to have more choices and try multiple things.
