This week I have been sharing activities that have a gorilla theme. My thought was that you could work on each of them after reading the book Good Night, Gorilla. The first activity was a gorilla egg carton craft. The second was a coding activity that invited children to build an algorithm that placed some of the events from the book in order. Today’s telling time worksheets focus on telling time on the hour, half hour and at five-minute intervals.

If you haven’t read the book Good Night, Gorilla to your children. They will enjoy hearing it before they start working on these telling time worksheets. You may even want to ask them to figure out what time they think each of the events in the book happens.
Getting the Telling Time Worksheets
You will need to download the Telling Time Worksheets with Gorillas. Then you can print them out on a black and white printer. You can print out one or all of the worksheets for each of your children.
Children who are tactile-kinesthetic learners may need set each time on a Judy Clockor a paper plate clock before writing it down on paper. They may not be ready to look at a clock on paper alone.
You may also need to remind them that not only the minute hand moves on a clock. They will need to remember that the hour hand starts to move closer and closer to the next hour as time passes.
If you have asked your children about when they think each of the events happened, you may want to record the times. Then your children can show you each of the times on a Classroom Clock Kitor a paper plate clock. After clocks with Good Night, Gorilla, you may want to explore them with the book Cluck O’Clock
