I found the recipe below on the Whole Foods Market website and decided to try and make it for JDaniel. He loves fruit and yogurt. This recipe calls for honey. I thought JDaniel’s allergies might benefit from my making something with local honey.
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, strawberries or pitted cherries ( I used raspberries.
- 1 to 2 tablespoons honey
- 4 (5-ounce) paper cups Aluminum foil
- 4 popsicle sticks or plastic spoons
-
-
Put yogurt, fruit (slightly thawed if using frozen) and honey into a blender and blend to desired consistency. I put the blender on the floor so JDaniel could reach it.
-
-
-
Pour fruit mixture into paper cups, filling each about three-quarters full.
-
-
Cover each cup with foil, then make a small slit in the middle of each foil cover. Insert popsicle sticks into foil, then freeze cups until solid, about 5 hours.
Great recipe! Do you find honey at local farms? We have a little farm that sells honey and fresh eggs – both are wonderful! I am looking forward to Saturday mornings at the farmers’ markets as well. I’m going to try those popsicles – thanks for sharing and visiting 8busyfeet this week!
Ohhhh These look soo good! My mouth is watering and I must try! Thanks so much for the recipe 🙂
Awesome! We have done this before also if you have an ice cream maker this same recipe can be used to make some yummy “ice cream!”. If you are out of berries; bananas, peanut butter, yogurt and honey are also yummy!
looks great!
i’ve heard that about local honey. we’ve got a farm not too far from here… but i’ve not tried it. i totally want to, though.
Sounds good!! I’ve heard that about honey before. I wonder if it’s true???
