I made JDaniel a tin filled with heart-shaped foods along with foods that were red or pink this week. He has a homemade pizza made with my sister’s homemade tomato sauce, tomatoes, ham, beets, and heart-shaped bread with strawberry cream cheese.
JDaniel loved the cream cheese! He barely touched the beets even though I told him that his grandmother loves beets. The homemade pizza was his favorite. He asked for it at every meal this weekend.

I’d go with the homemade pizza over beets too. =) Great tin!
Looks yummy! And even though he barely touched the beets… I think muffin tins are a great way to introduce new foods in small amounts… he may surprise you next time!
We do lots of homemade pizza here too! I should thaw out some dough now that I think of it. Beets are an acquired taste I think 🙂 I love them though!
That pizza looks great! Keep offering him the beets, he eventually will eat it:)
If he eventually eats beets, you are a better Mom than I (I don’t like food that tastes like dirt)- but give me that HOMEMADE pizza ANY DAY!
I love the addition of the strawberry cream cheese. Lovely! Thanks for sharing. ~
i’m not a fan of beets either. but my mother loves them, i used to have to eat them all the time as a kid!
great job getting so many pink and red foods in there!
Fun tin! I love beets, even as a kid I loved them. Did you try them warmed?
What great ideas! I love beets too! To me they do not taste like anything! Try it again, maybe mince it up smaller & disguise it somehow. 🙂
Cute tin. I love the homemade pizza. =]
The homemade pizza sound so yummy! You have such a cute tin!
Oops, my comment didn’t appear…
Just wanted to say that looks wonderful. Great ideas there!
Homemade pizza sounds good. Great tin!
CUTE tin!
homemade pizza is the best. my girls love pepperoni. lots of it. and then they pick it off. and eat nothing else.
great tin!
Cute! Love the cream cheese hearts.
I think my kids would skip the beets as well.I love beets.
Isn’t it amazing what you can get them to eat with a nifty presentation? I bought some … they look like compartmentalized school lunch trays off of e-bay for like $7 for 4 of them. HE doesn’t feel like his lunch is complete without every little compartment full! I love it.
Beets, what a good idea! In Holland they’re eaten with apple, maybe I’ll try that some time.
Cute tin! I only wish that my picky kids would eat beets!
Thanks for submitting these red lunches to BOTW!
Mmmm…cream cheese! ~Cute heart meal. 🙂
