I am trying to be a good mom and keep my little one warm as we venture out of the house in this frigid weather. JDaniel is usually wearing long sleeve shirts, jeans, a winter coat and hat when we leave the house in the morning to run errands. I try to warm up the car to keep him warm as we travel to the grocery store, library, playgroup, etc… From the backseat of the car I keep hearing a very ornery toddler voice say, “Hot! Hot! Hot!” There is very little I can do while driving down the street. Once we get to our destination he needs to be dressed warmly to get out of the car.
It is hard as a mom to know how to dress a toddler for a car trip in winter. All I can do it turn down the heat, unzip his coat and take off his hat when he is in the car.
I am looking forward to it getting warmer!

I’m looking forward to warmer weather as well! It’s such a hassle to get my MiniDork bundled up, then unbundle her partly so she’s safe in her carseat, then bundle again…and repeat.

I often wonder if Dawson gets too hot because he is all bundled up. I can’t wait for warmer weather, too! We’ll be moving back to San Diego in 3 months so I don’t have to worry about cold weather being an issue for too much longer. Yay!

I totally understand! We deal with the same thing too, since I have to bundle my toddler up when we go out, but once he’s buckled in I can’t take off his coat. I’m ready for warmer days too, even in the 50s!

That’s me…hot, cold, hot, cold! lol

I cannot imagine how difficult it is. I live in CA and we obviously do not have weather that is too cold. Once in a while we bring out the beanies and gloves, not very often. Lately, we haven’t even needed a jacket, just sweaters. Today, I was in flip flops, jeans and a tank. This weather is pretty wacky. Anyway, good luck with the bundling. Doesn’t it drive you crazy when you have to always adjust the car seat straps for the puffy jackets?

I agree, I’m done with winter as soon as Christmas is over. 🙂

Oh, yes…I know the story all too well! Miss P does not like wearing her coat in the car either, and she absolutely hates it if the heater gets too hot! Why can’t they just deal with it! LOL!

I have the same problem! I bundle my girls up in a onesie (or camisole), long-sleeved shirt, sweater, coat, and hat…and they get so toasty in the car! What’s a mama to do? 😉
Thanks for the visit! 🙂

Even I get really overheated after a little while in the car. It’s hard to get around that with little ones while driving though!

Some children are just hot blooded.
My daughter was whining about wearing “long sleeves” for her change of clothes from school today. 😉

It took us 15 minutes to get ready to go out last night and my son had his mittens off before we even got to the car!
