I was Stumbled an amazing recipe for a Pressed Italian Sandwich from the blog Following in My Shoes. It truly looked amazing. The sandwich is filled with salami, provolone cheese, and a mushroom tomato spread.
My mom gave us a Panini press about a month ago and we hadn’t had a chance to use it. This was the perfect reason to take it out the box and use it.
It was so easy to put the sandwich together and the end result was amazing. My husband commented that pressed foods just taste wonderful together and he was right.
JDaniel got tomatoes and pickles on coffee stirrer, and limas beans with parmesan cheese to go with his sandwich.
I am not sure why he wasn’t hungry when we all sat down to eat, but he wasn’t. It took a long to time eat this meal, but he didn’t want me to put it away for later.

This looks delicious!! I am putting it on my meal plan for next month for the whole family!! YUM!!
The sandwich sounds yummy. I like the tomato/pickle skewer as well – too bad my girl doesn’t like tomatoes or pickles!
I remember having a “sandwich squisher” (as we called it) when I was growing up. I think my favorite was PB&J. It’s all warm and gooey and delicious! But your husband is right. Everything tastes better pressed together.
Love paninis! His lunch looks wonderful 🙂
love it! you make fun meals for your son-lucky boy!

Love it. I was so tempted to buy a panini press this summer. I’m always at a loss as to what for make for lunch. Now I wish I had!
It looks tasty to me! I think I would like a panini press. Though I’m not so creative with my sandwiches these days. My kids could eat grilled cheese and tomato soup nearly every day. Me too. 🙂
Looks so yummy!! We love our panini maker! It makes the best grill cheese! You don;t have to use all of the the outside. yum!
YUM! I’ve always wanted a panini press and this makes me want one even more! Great lunch!
I love panini sandwiches. I make them sometimes for dinner for us.
Yumm…now I want a panini sammich 😉
I’m boring. Either tuna with lots of crunchy goodies added to it or bologna with tomato and swiss cheese.
I do like the sound of that mushroom tomato spread, though!
=)
Somehow, after going shopping as recently as Friday, I have no food in this house. Your little guy eating pressed Italian sandwiches?!?! My belly growls…
Looks delish!! I don’t have a panini press, but this post sure makes a good case for going out and getting one! *drool*
We have a panini press that never gets used. Maybe it’s time for me to pull it out.
As for favourite sandwiches, personally, I like grilled swiss cheese, saurkraut, and grain mustard on rye, but I recently discovered one on Pinterest that is becoming my new favourite. It’s stramato (strawberry-tomato), fresh basil, provolone cheese, and a tad of balsamic vinegar on French bread and then grilled…so yummy! I also tried it with jalapeno jack cheese instead of the provolone and that was good too.
Oh my, I cannot take all this anymore. It is one scrumptious food after another toady. This looks delicious.
I really loved pressed sandwiches. I think I could eat one every single day!
Sounds good – my husband would love it, too. He loves any type of Italian sandwich!
I love pressed sandwiches!
this sounds tasty! i love panini style sandwiches… especially ones with pesto or avocado!!!
That sounds really good.
Now that’s a unique skewer! Lunch looks great.
That looks super yummy..heck I’ll eat that for my lunch!

Yum! My favorite sandwich is a grilled cheese 🙂 We’re pretty boring around here. Wish my little guy would each more veggies like yours will. 🙂
