SITS is holding a Back to Blogging Event this week. Each day bloggers are asked to select a particular thing to share. Today the we were at to share a blog entry title we were proud of. I like many of my titles, but this one is attached to a fun post too.
JDaniel has been sitting in a tub seat for over a year. He really loves it now. When I first put him in it, he cried and cried. Now that he is a chunky two year old, he doesn’t fit in the tub seat well. He also fusses about the toys that are out of his reach.
I decided that he needed to try and sit in tub on his own. Well, he didn’t want to be in the tub without the seat. He cried and cried about being in the tub. The first night I just took him out and told him we would try again in a day or two. The second time he was placed in the tub he was still fussing. I was frustrated about the crying about the tub and the fact I had forgotten to bring a diaper into the bathroom with me. I called down the steps to my husband and asked him to come watch JDaniel while I got a diaper. He came up stairs right a way. I left him trying to calm JDaniel down. When I returned all I could see was JDaniel sitting in the tub and no husband. We have glass doors that slide to close the tub off when you are using the shower. The front door was open to bathe Daniel and the back door was shut. I looked around the front door to the back on the tub and there my husband was squatting with his pants rolled up. It was the funniest thing to see. JDaniel has been talking about it all day. “Daddy in tub! Daddy in tub!” he says.
Later that night I asked him where he came up with the idea. He commented that he did the same thing when we first used the tub seat. I had forgotten that’s what JDaniel would need.

Very cute! Nice mommy for putting in a tub seat thingy. Me? My daughter has been in the tub on her own since 15 months. lol. I just VERY little water.
So funny! Too cute! Love that daddy got in with him!
Its it great when Dads get involved!
That is so cute!!!! I love it when Dad’s take the time to think out of the box and try something to help the situation. So great!
OMG how cute!!! When my first son was just learning to sit in the tub my husband and I use to take turns and sit in there with him…I always laugh about that!
How cute! Hope you got a picture of that!
Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
That’s too sweet! I’m with Amy, I hope you got a picture. Fun post for today, thanks for the big smile. Kathy
That is tooooo funny! Bet he won’t ever want his tub seat again! Good Daddy!
Awww…..Awwww….welcome to Alphabe-Thursday! And thanks for a lovely story.
This made me smile.
I always had to put a bathtowel in the bottom of the tub and then my kids. They were so afraid of slipping around!
Adorable post!
A+
Awww what a good Daddy! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Thanks for stopping by. This is a cute blog and I enjoyed reading the story. Your husband sounds too sweet. What a lucky family..
What a cute story. I’ve led a sheltered life. I didn’t even know they made tub seats. When our kids were small we were so glad when they could finally sit up on their own and we didn’t have to support them in the bath tub. Ahhhh…you young people today have it so easy. 🙂
such a cute story … what a great daddy!
You have a great husband!! Kids learn by example.

Daddy to the rescue!
Awww, how cute is that?!? I immediately assumed that your husband left the bathroom, when the poor guy was just being a super awesome daddy! I feel terrible. 🙁
Have a great weekend.

Very cute story! My middle child went through a period of being afraid of the tub around that age–I had to actually go back to bathing him in the kitchen sink, and he barely fit! LOL I think the tub can feel very big and scary without the closeness of that bath seat! 🙂
that is such a great story!
thank you for sharing
Interesting post…not just another bathtub story… that’s for sure
what a great daddy and a great I’ post!
It’s fun to share the “little” daily moments of life as parents. And to help each other and learn together along the way. Cute story.
I love that he did that! Sometimes the most practical things just don’t come to our “mommy brains”
Cute story — it sounds like that Daddy is a keeper!
