JDaniel and I had fun tracking down blue and purple foods. BiLo had purple cauliflower on special this week and we found the purple potatoes from Peru at Whole Foods.
His tin contained blue tortilla chips, blueberries, purple potatoes (They are boiled in the picture above. I later mashed them.), meatloaf (non-purple meatloaf), a blueberry muffin and a little of the purple cauliflower. I was shocked when he asked for more potatoes and cauliflower. I wasn’t shocked that he wanted more of the muffin.

I was trying to guess what the items were in your tin before I scrolled down. The meatloaf and the purple cauliflower had me baffled! 🙂 What a great tin.

We tried purple cauliflower from our farmer’s market last year. Unfortunately, they didn’t really like it. Very clever idea to put it with mashed potatoes! I’ll have to give it a try.

You did a great job. I didn’t do MTM today because I didn’t want to have to dye all of my food. Fun for your little guy to have purple potatoes and cauliflower!

YOu always come up with the greatest ideas! I think my older boys would balk at eating ANYTHING purple – LOL! However, I think my little guys would laugh and give it a try! Purple Potatoes! That makes me want to laugh. I bet you had a wonderful, laugh-filled lunch!

You know I tried this muffin tin idea the other day and you know what #3 did? Dumped it out and ate it off of the counter, exactly like when I put it on a plate. I think I should maybe just go ahead and serve his food on the counter.

We had orange cauliflower for the first time last week and it was so good – the kids loved it. Now we will have to find the purple. And those potatoes, too! LOVE IT!

That’s awesome! These purple foods would go over really great here in Washington State. Our University of Washington Huskies are purple and gold, so those purple potatoes combined with something gold (perhaps squash) would be a great post game meal. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
