The theme for Muffin Tin Monday today is big, little, short, and tall. I decided to go with small and call the meal the Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Lunch. I borrowed the name from the song about the itsy bitsy teeny weenie bikini. There are no bikinis in this lunch or anywhere in my house as a matter of fact. I just thought it would be a cute title.
JDaniel feasted on wintertime comfort foods this week. The tin contained beef vegetable soup with tiny letters, tiny bits of turkey hot dogs, mandarin oranges, baby carrots with dip, tiny bite-sized sandwiches made with turkey and cheese on the most wonderful sundried tomato bread, and goldfish crackers.
JDaniel’s favorite part of the meal was the goldfish crackers. We don’t buy them often and he really loves them. He took one look at the tin and asked, “Do I really get to eat them for lunch?”
My favorite part was the sundried tomato bread. I had it on the same sandwich JDaniel did. A local bakery here in Greenville called Strossner’s makes it. JDaniel calls it pizza bread. It really is wonderful and at three dollars a loaf is a great price for homemade bread.

My daughters enjoy “tiny” food as well. I think it gives them an excuse to eat with skewers or their fingers. 🙂

I love this tin, I never thought of just doing one of the big, small, short, tall – great idea! Whenever I look at other people’s tin it reminds me how differently we all look at things…. so amazing how we come up with completely different things for the same theme 🙂

This looks delicious! When I want comfort food, I usually turn to mac and cheese, homemade of course. But I also really love roasted chicken, or beef stew with egg noodles. Georgia’s comfort food is probably mac and cheese, or ham and pea risotto.

Sundried tomato bread sounds so delicious right now! One of my comfort foods is a grilled cheese sandwich… though my favorite is actually done under the broiler. Sourdough bread, provolone, pesto, tomato. YUM!

Mini food is so fun. American Girl has some cute mini foods in one of their cookbooks that I want to make for my daughter sometime… like mini s’mores made from Golden Grahams, a chocolate chip and a mini marshmallow. Happy Monday!

Great tin! I would have to say that just about all food is comfort food for me.

My two year old would eat goldfish for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I let her! That bread sounds delicious, and now I’m tempted to go make a loaf of homemade. Yum!

You know, I have read so many of your MTM posts, but I’ve never actually done it! It’s such a good idea and my boys would totally eat this. I need to make myself a note or something!
Comfort food…I made Beef Stew in the crock pot today.

Ah, “do I get to eat them for lunch?” How sweet! I don’t buy them often now since the kids are bigger. We did cheerios more than goldfish. I like goldfish in my soup as a mom…:) Yummy!
