Playgroup would arrive at my house on Monday so, on Friday I tried blowing up one section of the pool for 10 minutes and got very little of the pool inflated. I was left huffing and puffing.
I then tried using a bicycle pump to inflate the pool but, found that the nozzle won’t fit in the air hole of the pump.
Finally I called my next door neighbor to see if she had a pump that would work. She checked with her teenage son and he offered to pump up the pool using their air compressor.
You might need the right boots to fill the pool too.
The Blue Zoo says
Well obviously you would need those super cute boots!
Sandra's Fiberworks says
We graduated to one of those enormous bathtub shaped pools — as well as graduated to a pump. Also a pump not only for pumping it UP but for pumping the gross water OUT every day.
Jessica says
At least your neighbor was there to help.
Secret Mom Thoughts says
Love the boots!
Natalie says
Ha ha love the last pic! I know I just inflated our pool and thankfully I had a mini pump that came with an air mattress. I am the worst at manually inflated balloons…etc!
Ticia says
Of course boots are neccessary, how else are you going to keep your feet dry.
Lisa @ Two Bears Farm says
The worst directions are in sewing patterns. Trying to read one is like reading in another language.
Mommy's Paradise says
LOL, he’s a real pro with his red boots. Can I hire him?
KLZ says
Oh, the boots! I want my own boots…so very cute.

It’s funny how the directions left that part out. Love the boots!

Cute pictures!
We had some crazy instructions for a TV stand we were building for my MIL a few months back. We did finally get it together, no thanks to the instructions! The stand was pretty and high quality, but on clearance, and we think that may have been why!
Honey @ Sunflower Schoolhouse says
My hubby always uses a foot pump. I am so thankful for nicer weather. We have actually used our pool once already this summer.

It sounds a bit like pumping up my double airbed when we camp. The single air beds have a huge hole for the large compressor nozzle. The double air bed has a teeny weeny hole for the smallest compressor nozzle! Crazy, or what?!

haha wicked cute picture! Love the rain boots!

Love those boots too!
Happy A-Thursday!

Good thing for the neighbor’s son! Glad you got the pool filled. It looks like they will have a lot of fun with that.

Ok the boots — priceless! And yes, I find most instructions mind numbing. I make it a habit NOT to read them. They generally just lead to frustration!!
Judie says
Oh, you sweet thing! You need one of those pumps that Rod bought to blow up our air mattresses for company! Please don’t wear yourself out! The children will surely take advantage of you if you do!!!
taylorsoutback says
Volumes could be written about so called instructions for most things we purchase these days – most are woefully lacking in good advice !
No need for instructions on how to look adorable in those boots – your little guy is precious!
Pondside says
I am hopeless at following printed directions.
I love the view of your little guy filling the pool – the picture of summer fun!

Right tools, and right boots to get the job done! Fantastic..

Those boots are too cute 🙂
I’m with you on the whole inflating instructions! E has one of those inflatable tubs and it takes forever to inflate by mouth. Plus, it leaves your mouth feeling all weird and tired too!

I don’t know how we’d get by without my husband’s air compressor-for everything from pool toys to boat tubes! 🙂 Its a summer must-have!
Rocky Mountain Woman says
Every single set of directions is hard for me to follow! I always think I’m smarter and can bypass some of the steps…
It never really works out!
Michelle DeRusha@Graceful says
The right tools are key indeed…as are the right friends (i.e. your neighbor!). And I just love your son wearing his boots to fill the pool!

Very funny! I guess we can use that term for many things in life, can’t we? I hope you have been doing well! The pool looks refreshing! Have a great day!

Oh, directions like this make me crazy!
It’s supposed to take 8-10 hours to put together my boys’ swingset. We’ve already worked on it for 20 and it’s not done!

I am terrible with directions AND blowing pool stuff up. Air compressor all the way baby. I found a great on at a garage sale and my husband is still impressed with that score!
The picture with the boots.
Be still my heart.
That made me heart smile!
Thanks for a lovely, happy link this week. Glad you had the right neighbor on hand!
A+

An Ingenious way to Inflate the pool! But how many people have an air compressor handy? Instructions? What instructions? They are a tool of last resort for me. I usually bumble along, and when I do have to use them, I more often than not find them badly written. I may use a recipe now and then.
[On my sign post: I doubt I’ve disclosed any state secrets in these images (certainly nothing satellites can’t pick up), and so I doubt they’d have an interest to come look for me. I’ve been a pretty nice promoter of their country… 😉 But even if they did want to charge me, it can’t be much more than a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket.]

All of your rehab projects in New Hampshire left us with gobs of tools, one of which is an air compressor. They really do come in handy!

I’m a day late and a dollar short, always – just getting to Thursday commenting!
I wonder how long you would have had to huff and puff to get that pool filled with air without the help of your teenage neighbor!!

This made me laugh. My husband would have skipped the instructions and went right to the air compressor. Love the boots! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I think I left home more out of desparation than courage–but it was the best thing I could have done.

Blow-up items are my nemesis. I’m missing a needle on my air compressor so it’s not working so well. I love the boots!

In my husband’s caes, sometimes it’s the person reading the directions! lol
Seriously though, some of the instructions can be difficult to understand
