One day last week I decided that JDaniel and his friend Bryce would use one of the remote controls for a singing game with me instead of dumping out all the toys to create a store. They seemed excited about the opportunity to play a new game.
How do you play?
The person holding the remote control calls out a song and clicks the remote. Everyone playing the game has to sing that song until another song is called out and the remote is clicked.
Here is an example:
Me:
The song is Jesus Love Me. (Click)
Everyone:
Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
Me:
The song is Your Are My Sunshine. (click)
Everyone:
You Are My Sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You’ll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don’t take my sunshine away
The game is simple, silly and fun. JDaniel and Bryce ( The boy next door) loved it when it was their turn to control the remote.
I hope you will try this game out and let me know how it plays at your house.
This post is linked to Mrs. Matlock’s Alphabe Thursday.
Great idea! I will definitely try this with my kids. Better than having them click to switch on the TV!
What a great idea! My son loves to click the remote so this will be so much for him!
I can see how that game would appeal. Remotes, singing – what’s not to love?
Fun game! JDaniel must know a lot of songs!
Cute idea and so easy, too.
=)
Simple ideas like this are the best! I really am going to try this with all 4 of my girls–they love to sing and I know we’ll have a blast!
Okay this is AWESOME. I can’t tell you how many games of freeze dance we played with music, but never sing-alongs…
The six teenagers in my pool right now probably wouldn’t play with me, so you are wise to sing you songs now.
Loud and proud, my friend.
With love in your heart…
That is a great idea. Must tell my so.HappyAT
I wonder if my husband would play this with me instead of flipping from channel to channel during commercials. (Yeah, I’m only kidding.) :))
Fun idea! love singing and love both these songs…
Cute!
Oh this is just tooo cute!! and how fun! What a great idea, indeed!

Great idea! Those are two of my all time favorite songs! we knew a wonderful utheran pastor that said he knew as a small child that he was going to minister to people because Jesus Loves Me, This I know was his favorite Sunday school song. Love Anne
What a fun idea!!!
How about a remote control game where I hit the mute button and they all go silent??? LOL!!
What a cute idea for my grandsons and me – a new game for my next visit.
It would be a catastrophe, we both sing false !
THat is fun. Great R word too.
What fun & a great ‘R’ post!
Dumping out all the toys to create a store is so much fun until clean-up time!

I’ve been known to grab the TV remote and pretend it’s a microphone.
Very creative! Sounds like you had fun too…
So fun! My boys love to sing!
Oh grandson number 4 would love this. He is our little rocker.~Ames
We do something similar and sing with a hairbrush, or a wooden spoon. We have a virtual band almost every night and since I love music, watching this makes my heart swell!
That does sound like fun!
What a great idea! I will definitely “borrow” this when babysitting little ones.
What a fun idea! Unfortunately I have been unable to teach the dog children to use the remote, which might be a good thing–I can only take so much of Animal Planet now that the Meerkats have gone.
how fun! broxton loves to grab play microphones… and he loves remotes, might need to start this now
How fun and silly. Audrey would love this game as she loves to sing.
What a fun game. I will try this with the Grands. Sometimes I need a break from Red Light/Green Light and Mother May I!
It’s neat he is still playing with the neighbor boy. Sounds like they are having a lot of fun together.
Thanks for a really cute link this week.
