JDaniel notices everything and hears everything too. Two weeks ago he heard me say that we were going to have to park further away from the store than I wanted to, because the only spots close in were handicap spots.
No sooner did we get out of the car than he wanted me to show him the handicap spots. I showed him the signs on the spaces and in front of them that show that they are for people with handicaps.
On the way home he wanted to know what handicaps were and why people had them. It turned into a long conversation. He wanted to know why God gave people handicaps and could people get better from them.
After we got home he didn’t mention handicaps again. It was as if he had sorted out everything he needed to in his mind about them and had moved on to something else.
Last week we put a set of cubbies up in Jdaniel’s room to hold all of this vehicles. I was really tired of having them parked all over his room.
I asked JDaniel to put the cars, trucks and construction equipment on the shelves and went to do something else.
When I came back, two of the bottom cubbies were empty. I asked him why there weren’t vehicles in them.
“They are for the handicapped Mom,” he replied.
I had to hold back a chuckle. I love that he was thinking about those vehicles with special needs.
I didn’t think we have any handicapped vehicles. Apparently he has decided that we don’t either. He has started storing vehicles in the cubbies, but it any start to have special needs he will know where to park them.
What do you children do that makes you want to laugh, but you know it would be inappropriate to?

That’s so thoughtful of JDaniel. I would’ve held back a chuckle too! 🙂

I think that is so sweet! Especially that he left the two cubbies empty for the special needs! It is amazing how much they comprehend even at such a young age.

That’s so sweet!! There is many a time when my daughter says something and my husband and I just look at each other and try not to laugh!
Lisa @ Two Bears Farm says
How cute! Sometimes it’s hard not to laugh.
Raising a Happy Child says
It shows that he really absorbed your explanation. My daughter has sweetly pointed out to our very overweight family friend that she loves him and that he is the fattest in our family.
Charlotte says
That is so incredibly sweet and shows he was really paying attention 🙂

Love this. Just about everything my Cherubs do nowadays is inappropriate, it seems…and I can’t stop laughing for the life of me.

Aww, that is so cute! What a good memory he has. He must really absorb what you tell him.

I am soooo behind in my return thank you visits! Thank you for stopping by :o) I am leaning towards requesting our future grandbabies call me “Lolli” haha …but time will tell :o) Hope you have a wonderful week! I did not get my “one a week post” up, so hopefully, I get one up this Friday :o)

That is so cute! He is such a smart one!
Bloom High Chair says
Isn’t it cute to hear that from your little one? I must admit… he is also very, very smart to be able to say that at his age.

That is wonderful of JDaniel to think in such term, and that means you’ve done a fantastic job explaining it to him 🙂
Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti says
Your JDaniel is very thoughtful!
My two year old grandson calls construction workers “Working man” –it always makes me smile.
Jessica says
That is so sweet of him. It would have been hard for me to giggle if one of my kids did this.

OMG that was so insanely sweet of him! What a great little boy you haave there! If my daughter would’ve done that I know it would have made me laugh too. It’s just so amusing to see how their mind works at that age. Sometimes you think you’re just talking to talk, but then realize just how much they picked up what you told them.

Haha! This actually made me laugh out loud! What a sweet little boy you have. :o) That’s so nice of him to make sure he has a place for his cars in case they break a wheel, etc.
My daughter is 9 now, and she comes home with the most dramatic, intense, 4th grade soap opera stories I’ve ever heard. There are breakups, fights, reconciliations, etc every single day. It’s a little humorous to me to hear these stories, but I have to keep that laughter in. God knows if I laugh even once that’ll be the end of it. I’ll never get to hear anything again, so I fight to keep a straight face and take it all VERY seriously. :o)

That’s so cute! Kids are such deep thinkers. I often wonder, after we have these sorts of conversations, what my son is going to do with the information. Love to watch their faces as they process new information like this!

that is so cute… and so sweet

This is too cute. Klaw is too young to be saying or doing heartwarming things like this, but I love it when he tries to share his sippy cup (or spoon, or cracker, etc) with us.

I love this story. What a good little guy he is!
