I am super lucky that JDaniel eats vegetables and I don’t have to sneak them into foods he likes. There are a number of moms I know that have to sneak in veggies through purees of vegetables or baby food.
With Easter right around the corner, I thought I would try creating two sneaky recipes using carrots in muffin tin meals that any bunny or child would love.
The First Lunch
The first meal contained whole grain rabbit sandwiches with cream cheese mixed with carrot baby food spread on top. JDaniel loved them. He enjoyed licking the cream cheese mixing spoon of much that I placed some into celery bites.
JDaniel is not big on celery. It is too strong for his taste. He was willing to eat it with the special cream cheese in it.
The rest of the tin contained foods rabbits would love to nibble. Strawberries, cauliflower, veggies straws, and kiwi grass were all placed in the tin.
My growing bunny loved all of them.

The Second Lunch
The second muffin sneaking carrot lunch has carrots hidden in two foods. The macaroni and cheese have carrot baby food mixed into it. The grilled cheese sandwich has shredded carrots hidden inside.
Actually, when you bite into this special grilled cheese sandwich you don’t notice the shredded carrots in it. The carrots are mixed with a small amount of mayonnaise and a 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.ย The shredded cheddar looks just like the shredded carrots.
I served this sandwich to JDanie and his friend Jake and they both loved it.
The meal is rounded out with a small fruit salad.

I love the bunnies everywhere! Too cute. I love your idea of sneaking carrots into the food. I will have to give that a try.
Let me know if he like them.
Yum, I love veggie sticks! Cute tin – I really like the kiwi.
We really love them too.
I love how you cut the shape of the bunny but left the crusts. That’s smart!
The truth is the bunnie didn’t want to be separated from the crusts.
Will you make my lunch for me tomorrow, pretty please? ๐
I wish you could come over for lunch!
Such detail with the grass-shaped kiwi!
Happy Easter!
The bunnies looked like they needed something to hide behind.
What adorable trays! I love that you sneaked in the carrots. My daughter eats veggies, too, but it’s kind of fun to sneak stuff in! ๐
JDaniel loves most veggies. Uncooked carrots aren’t his favorite, but he loved them hidden.
Can you come make these for my girls? Please? They would love you to be their mother for a day!
It would be such fun to make lunch for them.
I’m glad you found some ways to get the veggies in there for him, but you’re super lucky he likes veggies in general. I do too. I prefer them to fruit!
I am so blessed that he eats veggies like cauliflower and squash without a fuss.
great idea on the carrots/mayo/cheese…
we love carrots here, but it would be a great way to try something different ๐
Let me know if you try it.
You do so well with these.
=)
Thank you so much!
I love those bunnies with kiwi grass! They’re adorable!
Kiwi really looks a little like grass in color! I was glad we had some in the fridge.
Oh my goodness these are too cute!
I am so glad you liked them.
Cute lunch! I find that if you use the vegetable peeler on the outside of the celery it quickly removes the most stringy bits making it nicer for the littles to eat ๐
I need to remember to peel the outside first. Thanks!
Great ideas on how to “sneak” the veggies into a meal. My kids will eat them too, luckily! I love the kiwi grass. Reba WILL NOT eat kiwi. ๐
Kiwi has such a unique taste. JDaniel and I talked about what he thought it tasted like right after he tried it.
Great ideas! It must have been really tasty if JDaniel ate the celery because of it! (my kids are not celery fans either)
I think dips and spreads make most foods taste better. Yes, even celery.
I love the Kiwi grass and bunnies! So creative!
I am so thrilled you stopped by!
Sammy loves carrots but I bet this could be a good way for me to get him to try different types of sandwiches.. or ones w/ any “sauce” on them.. He is a plain kinda guy ๐ But he loves cream cheese on his bagels! Thanks for sharing this idea!
Cream cheese has been a great food for me to mix other foods into. JDaniel loves its texture.
Aw, these lunches are so cute ๐
Thank you so much!
love the bunnies!! so so cute!
Thanks! I am glad you like them.
Very cute. I gave my daughter carrots for lunch today and she hid them under her plate thinking that I wouldn’t notice and she would get out of having to eat them.
JDaniel tried hiding food once in the bathroom sink. He forget to rinse them down the drain and I fould them. He hasn’t tried to hide things since then.
Very cute, we did a bunny Muffin Tin Monday today too!
I loved your bunny tin!
Going to get the ingredients for these tonight! My little guy loves carrots, so I can’t wait to try them in grilled cheese. Thanks for sharing your idea!
Let me know how the grilled cheese goes over!
Those are very creative suggestions…I think my kids would love them! Thanks for sharing! ๐
I loved the grilled cheese sandwich when I tried it. I hope you like it too.
Such a creative way for the kids to enjoy healthy foods!
Thank you so much!
So cute! Fortunately all three of my children are veggie fanatics. Weird, huh? Not sure how we got so lucky.
My husband has actually said at dinner “Stop eating your veggies and eat something else!” That always makes me laugh.
That is wonderful. I love that my guy loves veggies too. He loves fruit the best, but veggies are well loved too.
The rabbit sandwiches are adorable!
Thank you so much!
I have to sneak veggies for Boogie to eat them. We haven’t tried using baby food since he stopped eating it, but that is an easy way to do it! Thanks for the idea ๐ I am actually sneaking a ton of veggies into spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight by pureeing them. As long as he doesn’t see them, he will eat them ๐ Muffins are the other way I sneak veggies in. He loves carrot, zucchini, pumpkin or sweet potato muffins.
I need to try some of your muffin combinations!
I love your ideas! My son is a fan of carrots, so he gulped that grilled cheese sandwich down! I added a link for your post on our blog entry today. Thanks for sharing!
Grilled cheese sandwiches are such a great place to sneak in food. Thank you so much for the link!
These are so cute! Love the ideas for sneaking the veggies in. My little guy will eat carrots, but more probably wouldn’t hurt.
JDaniel will eat them too. I just thought I would find a different way to serve them.
I love the idea of the bunny impression in the grilled cheese! I did this today with my 3 year old son and he LOVED it! He ate every bite of his grilled cheese sandwich, including the crust, which he never does! Thanks for sharing!
Hooray! I am glad that he ate the crust.
These sandwiches are so cute! You are always so creative!
They were both really delicious! I hope you try them.
makes eating way fun!!
I love fun eating!
I love the bunny!
Have a great WW!
POSH
I am so glad you like it!
Amazed by your creativity! And also grateful my kids eat veggies. Even when not as artfully prepared as yours.
My guy will eat almost all of them too. It is such a blessing!
Love those ideas! I need to figure out how to sneak veggies into my kids foods too. If only I were as creative as you =)
I just start with the foods I want to introduce to my son and think about meals I like to eat. It helps to make things I like just encase he won’t eat the dish.
Love the kiwi grass!
