Here is what we came up with:
Kid Friendly – Pimento Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 a jar of pimentos (drained)
1 Tablespoon of mayonnaise
- Mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise and onions together.
- Add in the pimentos. Don’t worry if they are in long strips. They will break up into smaller pieces while your child is stirring the mixture.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese a little at a time.
- Serve immediately if you would like a thinner cheese spread. Refrigerate for an hour if you prefer a thicker spread.
- Spread the kid friendly pimento cheese onto whole grain bread or the bread of your choice.
Our version of pimento cheese was declared a success by both my husband and son. I love how easy it is to make.We will be making it again when we run out of the bowl of cheese we made. This pimento cheese recipe is so simple and easy! We will be able to make it again and again.
This post is part of the Shrimp and Grits Blog Hop. Pimento cheese is very popular in this part of the South so I thought it would be perfect for this hop.

I have to be honest and say I have never liked pimento cheese, but it was always from a little plastic container at the supermarket. I have never tried making it at home before. This recipe looks like something my son and I would both like! Thank you for making me take a second look at this dish, and thank you so much for co-hosting the Shrimp N’ Grits Blog Hop!

As a transplanted Southerner, this intrigues me … 🙂 I’ve enjoyed pimento cheese before, but am not always sure. I have heard that grilling it is amazing, as is using it in fun recipes, so maybe I’ll give it a go!
