Your children will have a wonderful time using this set of pre writing worksheet and the Gruffalo writing tool to create a variety of different lines.
If you think it will be easier for your children to use a single Gruffalo claw or chopstick to copy the lines on the pre writing worksheets , please feel free to do that.

Before you have your children use the pre writing worksheets, you may want to read the book The Gruffalo to them.
Creating the Gruffalo Writing Tool
Supplies
- 4 Chopsticks
- Rubber bands
- Mini Pom-Poms
Directions for Creating the Writing Tool
You will need to put two chopsticks together side by side. Then wrap a rubber band around the top of the chopstick. This will join them together.
Place a mini pom-pom up under the rubber band between the pom-poms.
Repeat the steps above to make a second set of chopsticks.
Finally, you will need to wrap a rubber band around the two sets of chopsticks to create a set of four. Place a mini pom-pom between the two sets.
Pre Writing Worksheets Activities
Your children can trace the lines on the pre writing worksheets with the Gruffalo tool, a simple chopstick, a pencil or a crayon. They will be able to copy the line designs easily on top of the paper.
You may decide to use the pre writing worksheet as visuals that you children can trace in a pan of sand. This will allow your children to work on eye and coordination.
