I just read this tip in Family Fun Magazine. You need to tape up your child’s spelling list on the outside of glass door of your tub or shower. Then let your child trace the letters in each word this bathtub crayons. I think it is a great way to review your spelling words.

Two Moja Creations Reusable Bags Giveaway
Moja Creations has donated two great reusable lunch bags to this giveaway. The only thing they asked was that I let you know they strongly support recycling, reusing, and reducing waste. If you don’t already have bags like these, you may find yourself going through boxes on sandwich bags. Yes, you can clean your zip lock bags and reuse them. Some of you may do that. Some of you may get your children to bring their bags home from school so you can clean them and used them again if they remember. With great bags like these your children won’t forget to bring them home. You will be able to reuse them over and over again. Think about all the waste you will be saving. I know there are have been several giveaways in the last few months for bags like these. What I love about these are their sturdy construction, cute designs and a great handle. The handle would be great for children to have around their wrist to carry their snack around or to hang from a stroller.
I do want to tell you a little about the ladies at Mojo before I tell you how you can win the bags.
This is what they wrote in their Etsy bio:
We are two life-long friends who have recently graduated from the University of Florida. Throughout our lives we have found ourselves wanting to create and sell many things: from lemonade stands as young kids to beaded keychains while saving up for a car! In the past year we have discovered sewing and love that the ideas are endless. So often we find ourselves saying “Hey, we could totally make that!” to one another!
We hope you enjoy our items- we love knowing that our eco-friendly and reusable items will help create a sustainable environment for the future!

Mommyhood Tips- Teaching Toddlers to Share
I found a great article called 10 Parenting Tips To Help Teach Your Child To Share located on the More 4 Kids website. Here are there tips:
•Tell your toddler that not sharing may mean his friends will not want to share with him either.
•If your toddler doesn’t want to share, explain why it’s important to share.
•Take the toys in question away; if your toddler doesn’t want to share – then no one will play with the toys.
•Never yell at the toddler, but be firm in your reprimands. Yelling rarely gets you anywhere and does not set a good example.
•If your toddler screams and carries on; give the toddler a timeout, or what I like to do is a time in and sit down with your child, talk to him or her and make sure there is not really some other issue that is causing the problem.
•Thank your child for sharing his toys with others.
•Teach your toddler to think of others and how happy it makes them when they share their toys.
•If other toddlers are invited over, ask your toddler to pick out some toys to put away. But also remind him the toys left out can be shared with everyone.
•Teach by example; show your child how you are willing to share something you own.
•Finally, start very young. When my youngest was just a few months old and could sit up we would start playing a game. I would give him a toy and whenever he gave it back I would smile profusely, say ‘thank you’ and give it back to him. Now when we are playing together he routinely shares his toys with me and his big brother.
These tips are just guidelines. I found them very helpful read over and think about how I am teaching JDaniel to share.
Play Idea- Water Tub Instead of Table
I really wanted a water table this summer for JDaniel. I searched for deals. I looked at Craig’s List for used ones. I just couldn’t bring myself to pay the price at the store or wasn’t fast enough for the Craig’s List deals. Finally I settled on using a plastic tub I already had and put some sand toys, kitchen utensils, a fancy straw to blow bubbles with and a water bottle with it. JDaniel loves to play with it outside on nice days and in the kitchen on rainy days.
This play idea is portable and can easily be used inside and out. We have used it out on our deck and in the kitchen on the floor. It could easily be placed a table top if you want to get your children off the floor. We tended to stay on the floor so I could easily clean up the water or sand that spills out of the tub.
We have had a few accidents with the tub being knocked over. It is easy to wipe up the water though. JDaniel has taken longer to change into dry clothes then it has taken to clean this up.
This play idea has been great to pull out as I am making dinner. It has also worked well on rainy days when we need to play, but can’t get outdoors.
It is important to keep close to your young children if they are playing with water in a the tub. Even a small amount of water could be trouble for them. I try to keep my son close to me when he is playing a sensory tub. When he gets older, I will be able to work a little further away from him, but for now I will be sticking close by.
Traveling with a Toddler
We are heading to a family reunion and to visit friends ten hours from where we live. JDaniel has never been in the car for more than two and half hours for over a year. Back then he was four months old and slept most of the way. Needless to say I have been trying to plan out what we will need to make the trip successful.
The first thing I did was search the web for advice. I found the following sites helpful:
Baby Center- Packing Checklist for Traveling with Toddlers
Traveling with a Toddler
Toddler Travel
The second thing I did was assess what we already had that could entertain him and what I needed to get to help him stay happy while we traveled..
I have decided to take:
- a way to watch the Elemo and Curious George videos I checked out from the library. Thankfully a neighbor lent us their portable DVD player.
- a toy laptop that I found at a great consignment shop. (He loves computers.)
- puppets
- many, many books
- an I Spy bag that I got off the internet at Etsy.com
- crayons and paper
- a magnetic puzzle book
- the PeaPodz teether (He likes to play with the peas.)
- snacks
- an insulated sippy cup
- bubbles to blow at rest stops
- a ball to play with at rest stops
- my digital camera (If all else fails, he loves to view pictures on himself.)
The last thing I did was send out an e-mail asking for people to pray for our car ride. When you are traveling with a toddler, prayers are a good thing.
Thank goodness my mom is going with us. She will be able to rotate in to help entertain Daniel in the backseat. My mom is probably the most important thing we are taking with us.
What are your must haves when traveling with a toddler?
