JDaniel has enjoyed constructing his own sandwiches lately. I thought he would love to do it with the ingredients in this tin. He was even given a tin with heart-shaped muffin cups. I even made him some sandwich samples. He ate each piece individually. Why? I think it was because he can and he is two.
He had square and diamond-shaped bread, turkey in rectangles, cheese in triangles, apples in circles, and tomatoes in spheres.

Great tin! My 3-year-old loves these lunchable lunches, but I don’t like to buy them for her often. She adores the pizza and instead of putting it together, she eats it individually. Must be a preschooler thing! ๐
VERY CUTE IDEA!
Same deal here. In fact, if I assemble a sandwich for him, he often takes it apart to eat.
Great idea, it looks fun!
I’ll have to try the create-your-own-sandwich with Ethan.
Georgia really enjoys deconstructing her sandwiches – even to the point of eating each banana slice individually off her sandwich and then eating all the peanut butter, THEN finally the bread. I’m going to have to try this idea!
What a great idea! How fun!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
Jennifer
When you are two, that does seem like the best way to do things.
Hi! I have seen your comments on so many blogs that I read so I decided to come meet you! ๐ I just joined you on blog frog and twitter! What a fun idea. My kiddos would love that!
Even my 8 year olds love a “put it together yourself” lunch… and often eat each part individually..
Great tin, love the idea of deconstructed sami’s. Looks delish ๐
Thanks for dropping by! I know I’ve seen your face in the blogosphere…that’s a neat idea and that age is so fun! ๐
Looks delicious! What fun to have put together sandwiches, even if they did end up eaten separately ๐
What a great idea! Emily would have loved putting her lunch together too. I will have to remember that for another time :0)
Great tin. My middle son loves making his own sandwiches like this.
very cute. I should do this, since my 3 year old just take her sandwiches apart anyway.
That is a great idea! I will use it with my grandchildren. Where did you get the muffin tin? Why don’t you use it to enter my new recipe link Tueday’s Tasty Tidbits? (please….I am new at it)

Good idea! My boys love putting muffin tin ingredients together to make their own meals.
Love how you had the demonstration sandwich. Too cute!
At least he had something less messy to try to eat separately. My almost 3 yr. old likes to stick his finger in his PB&J sandwich & cover it – pull it out & lick the gooey mess off his fingers. I think I’m just going to start giving him PB & J w/ a spoon & a piece of bread! Love all the shapes. Looks like fun w/ the stars & stripes plate, too!
That IS a good idea! I’ll have to try that with my boys.
This is a great idea! Perfect way to allow them to make choices and decisions.
What a fun idea! ๐
This is such a cute idea! When I am having trouble getting the girls to eat, I should make it fun.
I love this idea!
