What a great activity! I love the idea of finding the numbers on a yard stick – I’m definitely going to save this idea for a rainy day.

You always think outside the box to make learning come alive for your son, I just love that!
Charlene says
Such fun activities. I saw that Michael’s had this big bundle of foam acorns for sale. That would have been cute to hide. I was going to buy them, but then I thought why would I buy a pack of 20 something, when I would only use 1 or 2 of them.
I’ve been thinking how fun it would be to buy something like those bundle packs they sale and take what I would need and use and then post about all the extras that I had and offer to give them or exchange them with someone else. How cool would it be to find a few friends or a small online group of buddies to exchange stuff like that with….that way everyone could benefit. Wouldn’t that be neat?

I’m passing by from Mom Loop. I can tell you that this activity definitely fosters literacy skills. It is really important that children associate letters and sounds with images and things that they can visualize. My experience as a Reading Teacher gives this activity an A+

I love using books as a springboard to other activities. Who knew acorns were so versatile?
Michelle says
That is funny~ squirrels really do forget where they hide their stash. Sounds like a cute story! Great tie-in’s too!
Thanks for hosting!
