Rescue Bunnies by Doreen Cronin and Scott Menchin is JDaniel’s new favorite book. It is about a Newbie bunny and her field test to become a rescue bunny. Newbie and her team are sent out to save a giraffe that has become stuck in the mud in hyena country and desperately needs help. Due to the fact that the bunnies are going to hyena country, Newbie is told that they may have a code red situation. In a code red it is time to evacuate and leave the giraffe behind.
You can probably guess what happens. Yes, they issue a code red, but Newbie won’t leave the giraffe behind. She ties herself to the giraffe and the other bunnies have no choice, but to save both of them.
Throughout the story various rescue bunnies utter lines from old movies. I thought it would be fun to see if you recognized any of these old movie lines.
Please list the lines and the movies that you remember in your comment. I will list the answers on Saturday.
Here we go:
1.“I am serious…and don’t call me Shirley.”
2.“You can’t handle the truth!”
3.“Nothing is going to hurt you tonight. Not on my watch.”
4.“You had me at hello.”
5.“Snap out of it.”
6.“I’m King of the World”
7.“Here’s looking at you,kid.”
Do you remember any of these?
Today is “B” day on Mrs. Matlock’s Alphabe Thursday.

I wish my husband was awake right now so I could ask him where these lines came from. He always knows old movie lines. Me on the other hand, I can’t even remember if I’ve seen a movie.
Dizzy C says
I remember some of the actors who said the lines
1. is Leslie Neilson
2. is Jack Nickolson?
7. is Humprey Bogart
3. and 4. are bugging me….I know them but from where?

I think that 7 is Casablanca, but apart from that, I’m totally stumped. I enjoy a good film, but there aren’t many that I would watch over and over.

Oh this is fun! Let’s see what I can do here:
1.“I am serious…and don’t call me Shirley.” Airplane
2.“You can’t handle the truth!” A Few Good Men
3.“Nothing is going to hurt you tonight. Not on my watch.” Hmm, not sure- can they be the same? I would have guessed A few good men, but after going back and reading the others, the bodyguard sounds good!
4.“You had me at hello.” Jerry Macguire
5.“Snap out of it.”Not sure on this one
6.“I’m King of the World” Titanic
7.“Here’s looking at you,kid.” Casablanca, a favorite

Well, imagine reading this book to a reading 4 year old! She kept asking me endlessly what all those lines meant! Nice pictures in the book though, and daughter kept playing saving a giraffe for a while 🙂
Jenny says
I remember some of these, but I can never remember the names of things! Grrr…now they’re going to be flitting through my mind all day as I try to recall them ! ha!
The books sounds really interesting. I like the premise of it…I think Morgan might enjoy it, although lately all she wants to read is Dr. Seuss.
Thanks for linking up.
As always…
A+

Loved this post. I knew all but #3 – which I’m embarrassed to admit gave me a little thrill.
How lame am I? (don’t answer. I can’t handle the truth…)
Thanks for the smile today!

I only knew a few of the movies. Our movie watching has really decreased since we had kids. I’ve read reviews of the Rescue Bunnies book but haven’t seen it yet in person.
