You will eventually reach the first shadow. Thankfully it is a large one. You can enjoy a brief respite from the hot sun.

The brief time in the shade might make you feel like biking a little faster to the next shadow. It also gives you a respite on the long distance bike ride.

There are sections of the road that don’t contain any shadows so, when your mom says you can turn around and head home you really pick up speed. You relish the large shadows that you passed over earlier in your ride and you rush to the next large shadow. The long distance bike ride is almost done.

Cute, CUTE post.
=)
That was a lovely idea to ride from shadow to shadow. 🙂
That was so clever!
He looks ready to go for a ride with Pierce. He loves his bike rides!

That is such a great idea! It is so hard to stay focused on our goals with our little ones aren’t happy!
Awesome. I really like how you make it fun for him and help him break a big task into smaller steps.
Great one… way to set a goal… and reach it… 🙂
Love it.. he looks like such a big kid on that bike 🙂
(Love your neighborhood too!)
That is so awesome!! What a goal for him to reach! He is so cute!
That is just pure genius! Going from shadow to shadow is a great incentive. I’m pretty sure that the thought of winning a gold drink of iced tea would’ve had me out on the bike too! Such a treat in the hot temperatures.
Thank you for your lovely OLympic post @ ‘Kids Bloggers Go Olympics’! Your boy looks greta on hir super shadow bike 😉

Look at all those entries. What great stories to be shared this time of year. My little one will soon be learning how to ride a bike…we can’t wait.
Great post! Loved how the pics told the story.
{Melinda} So cute! As they get older, you still have to find those “games” and incentives to motivate them. It just becomes more challenging and the stakes get higher. But the payoffs are still sweet. 🙂
How fun C hasn’t learned to ride his bike yet. Loved your post.
I need to get my kids out there on the bikes more.
I love the riding from shadow to shadow. What a cute idea!
Great idea to ride to the next shadow
That’s a wonderful idea. Our preschooler just started riding his bike, so we will have to give it a try.
