JDaniel has done it again. He has chosen to add another year to his age forcing both of us to now use a second hand when describing his age. It is true! When you turn six you can’t just hold up one hand. You have to hold one finger on the second hand. I totally remember helping him figure out how to hold up two fingers when he was turning two. This has happened way too fast.
He has heard me say it so many times that he has offered to pray that God would turn back time so I could experience his being little just one more time. I have told him that God won’t be able to do that and I actually wouldn’t want to lose any of the memories I have made with him in the last six years. They are truly precious and will be cherished.

Kids truly do grow up too fast, don’t they? But luckily you have written many of your experiences down in this blog. Lots of memories are stored here!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read your title — but JDaniel turning six, oh my how time does fly! Happy happy birthday to him! I remember when my daughter turned 10…. she told me now that she was in “double digits” she would no longer call me Mommy like a little girl, but Mom like a big girl. I had to smile through my tears on that one!

My grandson turned six this year also. It really is the year they turn into little boys instead of babies…

What an exciting birthday!! 🙂 I’ve felt, when my kids are at that age, that I find myself really studying them, trying to figure out WHO THEY ARE. So much of their personality is in place and is starting to show, and it’s a wonderful journey of discovery to find out what makes them tick.
It sounds like your son is really developing an amazing sweet kindness–like in relation to your mother, or even him offering to pray that God would turn back time so he could be little for you again. Sweet, sweet, sweet. 🙂
