I have really wanted to grow my Instagram following so a came up with a plan! Beside most pictures on Instagram I have noticed hashtags that relate to the picture being shared and the communities or streams each person is trying to interact with. Some hashtags I have seen are repeated over and over again. There are a growing number that are new to me.
For the most part I had been using the same hashtags over and over again. Hashtags like #kbnmoms and #childhoodunplugged appear often beside my pictures. I decided to seek out some new ones that I could compile into a list of possible hashtags. I could then try each of them and see if I could use them to increase my reach and find people sharing pictures like mine on Instagram.
After spending some time making a list of hashtags mom and kid bloggers were using on some or all of their posts. I then checked out the types of pictures that were being shared with those hashtags. Some of the hashtags on the list had a potpourri of pictures. Some of those pictures didn’t seem to fit with what I thought mom and kid bloggers were going to share. (I guess the people using them had a very wide interpretation of the keyword or words in the hashtags.) Those hashtags were removed from my list.
The hashtags that I plan on using were put into a printable for easy reference. I thought you might like a copy of the hashtags sheet too. Below you will find a link to a PDF that you can download of the printable. It looks just like the picture.
Instagram Hashtags for Mom and Kid Bloggers
My following and interaction with other people on Instagram is growing. Some of that has to do with trying to post more frequently. Some has to do with commenting or liking 15- 20 posts after sharing each of my pictures. Finally the largest difference for me has been the hashtag list. It has given me new streams to explore and to be a part of.
Leave me a comment below sharing your favorite Instagram hashtag.

A great resource. I would like to grow my Instagram too. With people who are not on there to sell wraps (sigh).

Thank you!!! I literally was JUST thinking how handy it would be to have hashtag reference for Instagram, Twitter, Google+, etc…I assume these could be used on those other social media platforms as well? I’m so new to social media. Also, I’d love to start following you on Instagram, but I can’t find a link to your profile.

Thank you for sharing this post, I was really looking for some hashtags to put on my post. I recently uploaded my soon to be preschooler’s playtime with Match-It Puzzles. Just wondering if you have an instagram account? I only see F, t, P, G+ above… Well, if you have one, let’s follow each other, @insomiah. 🙂
