In the past, I have shared with you secret code slime riddles, ocean riddles, farm jokes, and 4th of July jokes! Today I have a set of soccer riddles to share with you. Whether your children are big soccer fans or not, they will enjoy figuring out the punchlines of these riddles.
Before Starting The Secret Codes for Kids Activity
I love to share a children book based on the theme of an activity before starting an activity. You will want to check on this collection of soccer-themed books with brief summaries or check out one of the books in the collection below.
Exploring the Soccer Riddle Secret Codes Worksheets
Breaking the Code to Find Each Punchline
Each of your children will need to have a copy of the Soccer Riddles Hidden in Secret Codes. After giving each child a copy of one or both of the worksheets, you can decide if you want them to do them on their own or with you.
If you have younger children, you may want to do this with them. They may need help finding which letters match which numbers. They may also need help remembering which box to place the letter in.
Sharing the Riddles
After breaking each of the secret codes, it is time to share the soccer riddles. This is a great time for children to work on reading with feeling and inflection. You will want to have the try saying each of the riddles a couple of times. They can try sharing each riddle a different way. Part of what makes riddles funny is the way they are said.
When your children have finished practicing saying each riddle, they can practice saying each of the punchlines. The punchlines for most of these riddles are puns. The way the punchlines are delivered or said will make them funny!
