Field Trip to Target
Last Saturday we went to the Target Dr. Seuss Event. JDaniel and my nephew Kevin had a great time listening to stories and enjoying the items in the goodie bags they received.
This post is also linked to Feed Me Friday.
We also kicked off the Seuss month with our Target Reading time. The kids got these cute little goodie bags too…it was fun! We are studying Seuss all month with different lesson plans!
We love Dr. Seuss. Pierce is just learning to read (yay) and we’re using the Dr. Seuss books (because Dick and Jane make me feel like I’m losing my mind). He can get halfway through Hop on Pop – he is sounding out the words and everything (so exciting).
The zoo is one of our favorite outings. I need to renew membership.
So many great lessons we learned from dear old Dr. Seuss! Love all the books!
What an awesome post! I am following you through the Mom Loop Comment Follow. Great blog!
Stopping in to visit from the “Mom Loop Comment Follow” and glad to see a few of our favorite books!! And a trip to the zoo was a great tie in for the week 🙂
I’ve said it before, but I really love this idea of yours! My boys love books, and tying in an activity would be so much fun. I’m going to have to participate in this next week! I left me a note on my computer’s desktop so I can’t forget 🙂
He is so keep on all sorts of animals!
Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite children author that I don’t mind reading over and over again.
I also missed going on to field trips with my kids!
Totally love the zoo trip!!
I have something on my blog for ya – come see!
Kind of funny that the pigeon was the favorite! I love the tip-toe photo…
Your Dr. Seuss week looks so fun. We celebrated with our homeschool group and read lots of books and made a Suess Cat hat. Such fun!
Fun! I haven’t read those books in a while.
“The Cat” visited my daughter’s school this week. We didn’t get a chance to read any Seuss books at home but she enjoyed his visit at school.
I haven’t read those Dr. Seuss books yet to my boys. Thanks for sharing!
PS. JDaniel is getting big!
Perfect idea on the zoo trip! A wonderful tie-in idea! Lots of fun!
I loved Dr. Seuss…Brad’s favorite to read is Go Dog Go…and he reads it to our cat! She even listens which cracks me up!
I’m not familiar with either of those books, but they sound cute!
I love these ideas for linking literature and real life!
JDaniel had quite a fun week! I didn’t know Target held events like this.
I did not know that Target did something for Dr. Seuss the other day 🙁 Wish I would have known and gone here in Texas. Looks like a fun-filled day for SURE!
We did the Target thing too and it was great! I love Put Me in the Zoo!! I can’t get my boys to sit through if I ran the zoo but I’m sure they’ll be ready for it eventually! Looks like a fun trip.
I love how you relate the books each week.
We will be visiting the Aquarium, so if you have any suggestions…….
🙂
Thanks for letting me join this meme. I don’t have young kids of my own, but I still love to celebrate what Dr Seuss has done for kids and reading!
This is such a great idea! I am following you through Mom Loop. I’m looking forward to visiting again, and visiting other blogs here too. 🙂
Love the Zoo idea! I am saving it for our Zoo theme later on but we enjoyed many Seuss activities this week (stop by & have a look!)
I didn’t know about Put Mein the Zoo! Thanks for sharing & for the linky full of great ideas! Such inspiration!

B loves Put Me in the Zoo thanks to all the tricks with the dots, but doesn’t have a whole lot of concept of circus other than from books. Finding a worthwhile circus to visit is actually on my to-do list.
love, love Dr. Suess1 It looks like you and JDaniel had a blast!
