JDaniel is totally into pretend play. It is fun to see what he comes up with on his own. Many of the activities are based on things he sees me do.
A few weeks ago when I was tagging and organizing clothes for a consignment sale. He set up a consignment sale of his own. It was so cute to see all the toys lined up in rows waiting for the shoppers.
We go to the grocery store a lot so, playing store is very popular. Jdaniel loves to play grocery store with Bryce from next store. When I shop their store, I always go to the register when JDaniel is in charge. His prices are much cheaper than Bryce’s and he takes coupons. I don’t think Bryce’s mom uses coupons. He won’t take them. He only wants cash or a credit card. JSaniel will also push products that I don’t select by telling me they are on sale.
A hospital is frequently set up in the living room. Neither JDaniel nor Bryce is a great doctor. They mostly leave you waiting and waiting for an appointment to start. Once you are called in they are both distracted and forget you are on the exam table (couch). It actually great to be the patient. I get to read magazines and take a rest on the couch.

My favorite of JDaniel’s pretend creations is his blog. We have given him an old keyboard and from time to time I have walked into his room to find him clicking away on it. When I first asked him what he was doing, he told me he was blogging. His blog even has a name. The blog is called Mama Smith. I guess if my blog is named after him his blog can be named after me. He won’t tell me what his posts are about. Maybe I should be thankful it is just pretend. He has been unhappy with me about a few things lately. I am not ready for all that angst to be spread to the blogosphere.
Oh, blogging habits start early. Believe it or not Anna hardly knows that I have a blog and couldn’t care less. When she pretends with a computer, she is “working in the office and answering her emails”.
This made me laugh and laugh. JDaniel sounds like a fun, funny, smart! kid. I have to tell you: Clementine has a Fisher Price camera that I picked up, recently, at a yard sale. It’s supposed to take real pictures (unlike her Elmo camera), but, unfortunately, it’s broken. She doesn’t seem to mind. She walks around “taking pictures” for her “blog posts.” Aren’t we just so blessed?
HAha, love it!
A pretend blog! So sweet!
I love this post. So cute. I think this is such a fun age. My daughter is really into pretend as well and I love hearing her stories.
What great pretend play! Thought it he was quite the salesman that he accepts coupons and still upsells at the register. And his pretend blog is too cute! No pretend blogging here, but I have told, “Look, Mom. You can put this on your blog!” lol :>
Haha! That’s great!!
That is so cute! And that he would name his blog after you!
I love reading anecdotes about your cute son. I love the pretend blog.
=)
I love the imaginations of toddlers! They are so clever! The pretend blog is priceless. My boys don’t even know what a blog is, they just know mommy is on the computer writing.
I LOVE IT!!!
Uh oh. If I run across any disgruntled JDaniel blogs, I’ll be sure to let you know!
Aren’t they just so cute when they pretend? I bought a keyboard for my classroom several weeks ago and Darbee Rae claimed it. She sat with it for ever “e-mailing” me. Isn’t it funny how things have changed since we were kids playing pretend! Ha!
That’s awesome! Start ’em you, I always say.
That is absolutely PRECIOUS!
That is so cute!! Better watch out what you do at home – he might be blogging about it 🙂
This is so cute. My daughter loves to pretend she has a blog too.
Haha how cute. Won’t be long before he tells you he’s blogging about Mama Smith.
OMG, that is adorable! SO cute. I love it, and think it is too sweet. Your last paragraph about him being unhappy has me chuckling. Can you imagine if our kids DID blog? Oy! What they’d be saying about US!
So cute! You’re probably right about it being better as a pretend blog though!
Oh darn. And I was totally ready to become a follower of his!
