After sharing the farm-themed code breaking printables with a friend, she asked if I had made more coded breaking worksheets. She wanted to use them with her daughter. She told me that her daughter doesn’t like to practice reading by reading books. The little girl does like to read jokes. I decided right then and there that I would make a whole week’s worth of code break word and riddles set for her to use. You may have children that are just like her daughter so, I am sharing them with you too. Today’s code break set is filled with ocean riddles.
Getting the Code Break Riddle Worksheets
You can download the Code Breaking- Ocean Riddles Worksheets . There are two code breaking worksheets and one code breaking chart in this set. You can print any of the pages in this set onto a black and white printer. Each of the code break ocean riddle worksheets has an answer key. You can choose to print out the answer key or use it as a reference in its PDF form if you like.
Before Starting the Code Break Worksheets
Before you children start working on the code break worksheets, you may want to read them a book or two with an ocean theme. That will give them some familiarity with ocean words on the printable. It may also activate the knowledge your children already have about the ocean. Below you will find some of our favorite ocean-themed books.
Breaking Each Code
First, you will need to decide if your children can do this on their own or would benefit from working this with you. If you are using this as a reading activity, you will want work on this with them.
Next, you will need to decide if you want to hang up the chart so they can look up at it or have it beside your children. If they have it beside them they can point to the picture when they find it on the chart as well as the letter it represents.
Finally, when they have broken every code. They can practice reading the jokes and their punchlines
If you like this printable, here are some more ocean themed printables you can share with your children.

Thank you for these great worksheets! I’ve been using them this week with my occupational therapy students and they have loved them. Just letting you know there are a couple of errors on the second page of jokes with missing images.
