Trick or Treating Pictures

We went trick or treating with our next-door neighbors. JDaniel wore a Dalmatian costume his Aunt Kate sent him for Halloween. Nathan, the little boy next door, was a police officer. As you can see JDaniel was always a few steps behind Nathan in their search for and seizure of candy.

Freaky Fungus or I Found a Brain in the Yard

I found this huge mushroom in my front yard. It looks a lot like a brain to me. The corpus callosum is missing from the mushroom. It makes it hard to see the right and left hemispheres clearly. The rippled effect one sees in brains is most easily seen on the edges of the mushroom.
What do you think? Does it look like a brain to you?

Almost Wordless Wednesday- Pretty Pumpkins

We found such a variety of beautiful pumpkins at a local pumpkin stand. I had to take a picture of some of the more unusual ones.

I love the lace pattern on these pumpkins

These white and green pumpkins are stunning.

JDaniel loved these too.
He ultimately picked a traditional orange pumpkin.

Fire Truck Prayer and a Cool Fire Truck Photo

Lord,
Please be with those firefighters.
Help them to get where they are going safely.
Give them the wisdom to know how to save those in their care.

JDaniel and I pray when we hear a siren or see a fire truck. We also say a prayer for ambulances.

Disclaimer: The photo was created uploading a picture of the newest fire truck in our town to PhotoFunia. I learned about this cool free photo editing tool on a wonderful blog called Bungalow’56.

Facture Looks Like A Great Photo Gift

I just read about a wonderful new product on Twitter Moms called Fracture. It is product that combines a digital picture and a shatterproof piece of glass. It looks so cool. The sleek lines would look great with any décor. I am so excited about trying this. I think it would make a great Christmas gift. All I will need to do upload a picture and they will print it on glass.

The company mentions the following:

Fractures are very safe: all sharp edges are removed, and they are completely okay to touch and handle.
Fractures are durable: the prints are shatter proof (unlike traditional glass frames), and the images will not fade for years beyond average prints.

If I am among the first 100 participants, I will be writing a follow-up post about Fracture with my feedback after testing it out.

Disclaimer: “I wrote this blog post in response to a TwitterMoms RAMBO alert, making me eligible to get a Fracture picture frame for review. You can learn more about Fracture at http://www.fractureme.com/.”

Reading About Machines Constructing A B-Day Cake

JDaniel just loves this book about constructing a birthday cake! Even with a pile of books around him, he wants to read this book over and over again. If you think your children would enjoy this book, you can order a copy of it so that they can read it over and over again just as JDaniel has.
