Muffin Tin Monday- A Visit to the Chinese Market
Making gelatin was a lot of fun. JDaniel loved getting to stir the mixture after I added milk to it. I have never had gelatin with milk, but that is what the directions instructed us to add. JDaniel loved it. He asked for it over and over again. Due to the fact that it made tons of gelatin, he was able to have it over and over again.
The noodles were added to stir-fried veggies and chicken. He inhaled all of it and asked for more.
The cookies were another big hit. It was fun to see what type of car or truck would come out of the box. My husband and I enjoyed them too.

Muffin Tin Monday- Dipping Into Lunch
JDaniel loves dipping foods into sauces and dips. I was contacted by the makers of Beanfields Bean and Rice Chips to do a review of two of their products and thought that they would be perfect for dipping.
The Beanfields chips are corn and gluten free. I have a friend who is gluten free in her diet right now and she has been searching high and low for gluten free products that taste great. The sea salt and Pico de Gallo chips do taste great. JDaniel wasn’t really into the Pico de Gallo (Yes, it looks like he wants more in the picture.) and asked if he could trade them in for more of the sea salt chips.
JDaniel has been skipping the proteins I put in his lunch. These chips offer him protein in a form that he doesn’t know is protein. The navy beans and black beans are disguised as a treat.
It is wonderful that they are made in the United States too.
The chips were served with three different dips made of things I found in my fridge. There was a traditional sour cream and onion dip. The second dip was plain yogurt with salsa. The final dip was plain yogurt with Italian salad dressing mixed in.
Carrots were added to round out the meal. Actually JDaniel requested cheese be added to his tin too. It isn’t lunch without cheese.
Disclaimer: I was sent the bags of Beanfields to review. We really liked them and will ordering them online. They are not in our local store yet. Click here to see if they have a store near you.

Muffin Tin Muffin-A Celebration of Worms
We shredded paper and then received a bunch of wiggly, giggly worms.
JDaniel loves to feed them and check to make sure the box is moist enough for them. He even talks to them to make sure they are okay.
In honor of JDaniel’s new pets, we have a muffin tin that celebrates worms. JDaniel had worms made of whole-grain waffles to dip in tomato sauce. Worms like debris from plants so, cheese flowers and their scraps were included. A segmented mandarin orange worm and two candy worms finish out the tin.

Muffin Tin Monday- Hopping You Had a Wonderful Easter
The picks came from a game the Muffin Tin Mom mentioned was available at Dollar Tree. We have never tried picks before and JDaniel really enjoyed them.
I had hoped to use the picks to convince JDaniel to eat turkey sandwich meat again. He has had turkey sandwiches for lunch for months and loved them. He has decided turkey is not good. He has decied most meat is not good. JDaniel has alwasy been a hearty eater of almost everything I give him. I hope this is just a stage.
Did your children go through a stage where they stopped liking certain foods?
Muffin Tin Monday- Alternative to an Easter Basket
Instead of filling his basket with sugar I am going to try an alternative idea. The plan is to give them this bunny shaped deviled egg tray of eggs with healthy snacks. (Least you protest he must have something sweet. He will also be getting a small chocolate bunny from my mom along with a Curious George DVD, and a small plastic bunny game.)
I found a bunch of health organic snacks at Whole Foods to fill his eggs with. I found Honey and Chocolate Grahams from Annie’s Home Grown, Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, and Barabara’s Oatmeal Snackables in animal shapes, and an organic fruit strip (not pictured in the tray).
Oh! Please think about joining the that The Activity Mom and I was hosting this week. Here is the box JDaniel and I put together for an activity we are doing for this Friday’s Read.Explore.Learn post.
Muffin Tin Monday- Spring Cleaning
Muffin Tin Monday- April Showers
When the rain falls, you need an umbrella. JDaniel was given a cheeseburger umbrella. He ate half of earlier. The remaining half had the bottom part of the roll removed and made into a handle. You may have assumed that both a top bun and bottom bun were a part of the umbrellas canopy. If you did, I was able to trick you with my amazing tin creation skills.
There are a lot of chemicals in the atmosphere now. JDaniel was given acid rain represented by pickles in the second cup.
The next three cups feature rain as it sprinkled down on various foods with various intensities. There is the light sprinkling dirty rain that fell on sugar-free applesauce. The sprinkles increased in intensity on strawberry yogurt and became infiltrated with more of an acid color. Finally the sprinkling got long and stringy much like shredded cheese as it fell on cheesy broccoli.
The final cup displays hard rain or hail. Dried apricots represent the freak hard rainstorms that can arrive and depart quickly during some rainstorms in the spring.
